Moisture removal is the process of removing unwanted water (free, emulsified or as a mist) from gases, air, fuels, oils, solvents and process liquids to keep the stream dry, clean and in specification.
Processes where moisture removal Is Needed:
- Storage tanks & vessels: Tank breathing allows moisture in; vent filters protect stored fuels oils and chemicals.
- Compressed air & gas lines: Compression causes condensation which leads to corrosion and valve/tool failure.
- Fuel. Diesel and lubricating oils: Water from condensation in storage causes rust, injector fouling and microbial growth.
- Solvents, Chemicals & Pharma Fluids: Atmospheric moisture can ruin reactions and products can be pushed out of spec.
- HVAC Systems: Removes particulates from steam in humidification systems to maintain air quality.
Why Is It Important?
- It protects tanks, pipelines, equipment from corrosion and rust.
- Keeps fuels, oils, solvents and chemicals pure and of good quality.
- Longer equipment life; less maintenance and downtime.
Relevant products:
- PTFE Pleated Filter Cartridge – hydrophobic media to prevent liquid water and aerosols in air/gas and vent applications.
- Vent Filter Housing – For storage tank and vessel breathers to prevent ingress of moist dusty air.
- Cartridge Filter Housing (PP, SS, Duplex) – in-line moisture removal for liquids and gases.
- PP & PES pleated cartridges, high flow cartridges – pre-filtration and high-capacity moisture control in industrial process fluids.
